Mozza Roasted Veggie Sandwich

Submitted by wilhelmus

It's almost never a good idea to toast Paninis. That should be limited to gilled cheeses. With Paninis, it doesn't look appetizing and when there's veggies involved, it looses it's crispness. Same with this attempt at a lunch.

Gatwick Airport is a small airport serving mainly the budget airlines. So it's not a good idea to arrive hungry. But there's plenty of shopping and a couple of restaurants. The service in this place was particularly bad, and the food below average and overprices. But what do you expect at an airport?
Tomato, Basil, Mozerella Panini

It was early spring and sunny in London. On such rare occasion we had to sit outside to eat something. We found a small sandwich shop packed with the business lunch crowd, always a good sign, with a couple of tables outside in the sun. The sandwich was delicious.
Cheese Crunch Sandwich

Totally jet lagged, I got up early and went for a walk in Hyde Park to watch the sunrise. I was hungry and the only thing I could find was a corner store selling these sandwiches. I have no idea what made it crunchy, I hope it was carrot.
Vegetarian Thali

Lot's of good Indian restaurants in London. This one in a fairly residential area in the Paddington area. Included pannel mutter and chana masala. Price was decent considering we were in London.
Vegetarian Curry with fried rice

Nigel always tells me how great the curries are in London so I decided to check it out for myself. Well, I pleased to report that Nigel is correct. This dish was excellent. Taking a picture was a bit ackward. Personal space in Europe means something very different from North America so the people beside me were probably wondering what this guy one foot away from them was doing eating by himself and taking pictures of his food.
Breakfast

This breakfast came complimentary with my accommodation. It was an english style buffet breakfast. There was a wide selection of sausages of course but I'm a veggie. I liked it because it's different.

After spending a few hours in the British Museum, I could use some lunch and my eye fell on the menu of this restaurant. It included one of my favorite meals. A salad with warm peanut sauce. The peanut sauce came on the side and was home made.
Veggie Burger

I didn't expect much from an airport restaurant. And I was peeved because of my 8 hour delay. But I forgot all about the eurostyle veggie patty. It's soft inside with a potato base. Tasty.
