Slocum & Ferris "DLT"

Submitted by BAX

This "DLT" sandwich is perhaps the most innovative take on a perennial favourite, the BLT. Bacon, the very essense of the BLT, is replaced with Bay of Fundy dulse. And it pops! It is delicious. If you can't wait to visit Slocum & Ferris in the historic Saint John City Market for a DLT, they'll ship their world famous fresh Grand Manan dulse to you. www.slocumandferris.com
Corned Beef Rueben

Croque Monsieur

The Doug Fir is a hipster bar, and hipsters usually piss me off. But it's happy hour at the 'Fir, and I need to get happy. $4 drinks and $2.50 appetizers equals "I don't care what you wear, start pouring and don't stop." A surprisingly tasty sandwich with Black Forest ham, bechamel and melted gruyere cheese. I say surprisingly because, well, I didn't think hipsters could cook.
Tomato, Basil, Mozerella Panini

It was early spring and sunny in London. On such rare occasion we had to sit outside to eat something. We found a small sandwich shop packed with the business lunch crowd, always a good sign, with a couple of tables outside in the sun. The sandwich was delicious.
Cheese Crunch Sandwich

Totally jet lagged, I got up early and went for a walk in Hyde Park to watch the sunrise. I was hungry and the only thing I could find was a corner store selling these sandwiches. I have no idea what made it crunchy, I hope it was carrot.
Full Meat Deal

Can you tell I love coming here? I think I've reviewed this spot more than any other - cool jazz, casual atmosphere and good food - it's easy to see why. I usually get the Full Meal Deal when I come here, but this time I decided to give in to my meat-eating side and get a meat sandwich. Tender, smoked turkey piled on toasted rye bread with sweet red onion, delicious. The tomato bean soup had a nice flavour, slightly sweet with just a touch of spice, perfect on a cold winter afternoon.
Gilled Cheese Sandwich

In Ireland, they grate every cheese sandwich. A little different and you'd think it would make the cheese melt a bit better. Not the case. The chutney however is a very good idea and has made it on my own grilled sandwiches back home.
Veggie Sandwich

Very fresh veggies made for a nice sandwich and salad. The pesto dressing was good.
Veggie Sanga

Submitted by Finn

I'm intrigued by the promise of a sanga. I don't know what one is. Turns out it's a club-house style sandwich, loaded with a mixture of grilled and fresh vegetables, and topped with Provolone cheese. It was a nice sandwich, bread was fresh, the veggies not over-grilled (which can happen a lot) and the fries were the perfect texture. I'm just disappointed a sanga isn't something more elaborate.

My usual Solly's lunch, but this time I opted for the Corn Chowder instead of Mozza Ball soup. Delicious chowder, creamy and full of flavour. Tuna sandwich was fresh as well.
